Executive Summary

The project group children, youth and family covers central topics of social work. Their work deals with relevant issues and topics for politics, science as well as associations and bodies involved in social and educational practice.

This particularly involves the observation of change processes in society with regard to their effects on the life situations of children, youths and their families as well as the resulting need for action by government and social work institutions. 

The project group is currently working on the development of child and youth protection in Germany and the significance of the function of the family in the area of child and youth work.   The group dedicates particular attention to the education of families as a preventive offering for the enrichment and advancement of family competences.
